Reverend Arthur L. Posey was born in Champaign, Illinois where he received his formal education and christian experience. He moved to Detroit and attended the Detroit Institute of Commerce. He received his call to the ministry in 1948. In 1952, he received his license to preach in the Mother Church of the Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc., in Kansas City, Missouri.

Reverend Posey was ordained in 1954, in Los Angeles, California at the Congress of Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc. which was held at Triangler Church under the late pastorage of Mother Pearl C. Woods. Reverend Posey was trained in classes for ministry under his pastor, the late Reverend Zola M. Robinson, who was then pastor of Alpha & Omega Spiritual Church of Christ. At this church, Reverend Posey served as assistant to the pastor, on the minister's board, later as President of the minister's board, as President of the June Birthday Month Club.

Working diligently with the Congress, Reverend Clarence H. Cobb allowed him to organize a State Congress of Michigan. Reverend Posey served as President until the Congress made some changes. Then he became Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc. At the demise of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Reverend Henri Lawson. he moved to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc.

Reverend Posey organized the Temple of St. Jude Spiritual Church in October, 1964. of which he is now Pastor. He is a member of the N.A.A.C.P., now serving as President of Detroit Layman & Minister's Council of Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ.Inc., a member of The Human Resources Satellite Committee of Detroit Common Council.

At the Congress in Indianapolis, Indiana, Reverend Posey was appointed to the position of 1st Vice-president of the Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc. under the leadership of the present International President. Reverend. Doctor. I. Logan Kearse.

Reverend Posey's daily task is to strive day by day to be a child of God

  • 1965-1980 METROPOLITAN SPIRITUAL CHURCHES OF CHRIST INC.; Elected a board member in 1965. elected Chairman of the Board in 1962. and elected 1st Vice-President of Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ. Inc. in 1980.

  • 1980 PRESIDENT OF DETROIT LOCAL COUNCIL OF MINISTERS & LAYMEN; Administered spiritual guidance and leadership to 12 local churches, ministers, pastors, laypersons, and all other organized board and group members.

  • 1984 HUMAN RESOURCE SATELLITE COMMITTEE OF DETROIT COMMON COUNCIL; Served as a liaison between people with serious needs in guiding them to the proper agencies for assistance.

    ACTIVITES AND HUMAN RELATIONS
    Organized the First State Of Michigan Convention for Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc. Attended the Unification Meeting of the International World For Feed The Hungry.Lifetime member of The National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People. Member of the Friends For Belle Isle Beautification Program.Spearheaded the Glorious St. Jude Spiritual Retreat & Campground - Wellston, MI. Consultant for the Gospel Musical Workshop of America, Inc. The Conduit for the Feed The Hungry Program. Volunteer services as a staff member for the Swanson and Fields Funeral Homes.
