Mrs. Louise Olive Walker was born September 21, 1913 to Betty Mason Williams
and James Williams in Valley Falls, Kansas. As a young child she professed her
belief in Christ.
In 1931 she moved to Kansas City, MO as a professional singer and dancer.
November 2, 1937, she married Jerry Walker, who preceded her in death on March 31, 1964.
Upon her arrival in Kansas City, she united with the Truevine Baptist Church
under the pastorate of the late Rev. Holland. She served on the Federated Board
and was a member of the Senior Choir.
She worked for nursing homes throughout the Metropolitan area and retired as a nurse.
Affectionately known as "BIG" she was blessed with five children. She departed
this life Wednesday, October 9, 1991, at the Humana Suburban Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She leaves to mourn her passing: one sister, Marie Washington of Burlington, IA;
one son, Jerry Walker of Milwaukee. WI; four daughters, Ella Taylor -Sherman of
Louisville, KY, Mary Alice Wynne of Dallas, TX, Lucille George and Jamesetta Ersery
of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren - Laura Henderson, Toni Willingham Bowles, Jean
Bowles, Tyrone Walker, Carolyn Walker, Charles Taylor, Sherritta Taylor, Edward
Ersery, William Fletcher, Kador Ersery, Thelma Ersery, Andre Walker, Louis
Walker and Marquann George; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild;
other relatives and friends.
