“A time to be born, and a time to die, A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn with our precious memories in mind.”

Martha Lou Siggers was born on February 7, 1937 to the union of William Russell and Fannie M. Gaines-Russell. Both parents preceded her in death.

Martha attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1956.

Martha was employed as a Clerk of the Municipal Courts of Kansas City, Missouri for sixteen years before retiring in 1988.

Martha was an inspiration to many of her family members and all those whose lives she touched.

Martha accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of the Universal Spiritual Church under the pastorate of Rev. Calvin Phillips, serving on the Nurse's Board. She then rededicated her life to Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, under the pastorate of Dr. James D. Tindall, Sr., serving on the Missionary Board #2 until her physical condition prevented her from participating as she desired.

Martha leaves to cherish her memory: three brothers, William F. Russell, Earl M. Russell, and Reginald Chandler; four nieces, Billie I. Russell, Patsy A. Hutton, Donna M. Russell, and Tanga Dedrick; one nephew, William Earl Russell; three great-nieces, Donna N. Hyche, Martrice S. Hutton, and Felicia M. Harrision; three greatnephews, Derrick Hutton II, Michael Harrison, William E. Russell, Jr.; one great-great-nephew, David D. Conway, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Sammie Hicks and Annie Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
