God, in His greatness endows each of us, his children, with power and purpose. It
is up to us to choose to walk in our puipose. Grandma made that choice.
She opened her heart and poured her love on those in need. If you needed
a hot meal, she fed you. If you needed a place to lay your head,
she took you in. Or maybe you just needed someone to talk to,
Grandma was always there. From God's perspective, Ruth Marie Scafe,
was indisputably a true soldier!
Ruth Marie Robinson Scafe (tenderly known as Grandma) was bom June 23, 1918
to the union of Johnny and Mable Robinson (both preceded her in death) in
Algeria, Louisiana. In 1940 she married Ace J. Jones of Detroit, Michigan.
To this union two children were bom, baby Ronnell Jones (died one week
after birth) and Renee M. F. Jones. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri
in 1958 where she was a faithful member of the Metropolitan Spiritual church.
She married Leon Scafe in 1962. He also preceded her in death.
As a young woman she worked a s registered nurse for Kansas City Regional
Center. She was employed there for 21 years and then for Western Missouri
Mental Health for 20 years. She cared for many people at work and in her own
community. She ran her own hope house until she departed this life just a few days ago.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Renee M.F. Jones Williams (Tony)
of Kansas City, MO, two grandsons, Ronnell D. (LeStar) Jones of Kansas City, MO.
and Gary L. Jones of Sandstone, MM. Eight great-grand children, Jeron, Ronnell, Cheryl,
