William Saxton, Jr. was born on September 14, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri to the parents, William Saxton, Sr., and Nannie Wilson Saxton.
"Skeets", as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Kansas City Public School District, Douglas Elementary (west side), R. T. Coles Junior High and graduuated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1940.
William, at a very early age, began training at the Sunrise ~aptist Church, where he continued well into his adulthood.
His employment began with Madison Pharmacy, later Cudahy Packing House and finally as security at Hallmark Cards, Inc. from 1973 to ] 987.

William was a very dedicated soldier to his country. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in World Il, Korean War, and Vietnam. He received many citations, such as "D" Day Landings, Commendations Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) just among a few.
Williamand lustine were unit~q.!:!1marriage on.Sept~ber 13, ] 971 in Columbia, South Carolina. William later joined the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ after his retirement in 1973, under the pastorate ofthe late Pastor Calvin Phillips, now under the present pastor, Bishop James D. Tindall, Sr. He was assigned to. the Trustee Board, where he served 33 years as President and also served as President of the National Trustee Board and Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ for 30 years before retiring. William was also in the Masonic Order, where he served as Past Worshipful Master, Gold Card Member of Blue Valley Lodge #64 (PHA), Past Most Excellent High Priest of Mount Oread #6 Chapter of the Holy Royal Arch Masons (PHA) and a member of the "Now Time" Mens Club.
His parents, three brothers, Jack, Leon, Louis, sister, Naomi Roberts all preceded him in death.
William "Skeets" Saxton, Jr. depalted this life on Thursday, March 18,2010.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Justine Saxton of 39 years; his stepson, Roy Lee West; sisters, Gertrude and Helen Louise Saxton; sister-in-law, Lillie Saxton; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 greattgreat grandchild; a host of nephews, nieces; Metropolitan Spiritual Church Family and West Side Club, Hallmark Cards Family and many other relatives and many, man~ friends.
