Arkidelphia V. (Dale) Oates was born July 14, 1960 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Benjamin Oates, Jr. and Thelma Oates. He received his early education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and graduated from De LaSalle Education Center in 1978. At the age of 20, he enlisted in the United States Army. Dale accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Paseo Baptist Church. He visited Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ. He was employed at Lear Corporation in the Production Department. Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Zondra G. Oates, and father, Rev. Benjamin Oates, Jr. He departed this life Thursday, March 23, 2000 at home. He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Delisha Barr; his mother, Thelma R. Oates; fourteen siblings, Venita J. Oates, Wally H. Oates, Evelyn M. Wright, Keith L. Oates, Benjamin L. Oates III, Arthella M. Oates, Zelma L. Oates, Robert F. Oates, Theresa L. Camp, Barth L. Oates, Quo Vadis Oates, Rhonda E Oates, Janet D. Oates, and Dempsey D. Oates; an uncle, Rubin Oates; three aunts, Velma Sutherlin, Mary Wright, and Vada Stephen; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
