Betty was born on July 21, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to Rosa Lee (English) Walton and Charles S. Walton.

She attended Douglas, Northeast and graduated from Sumner High School in 1951. She attended Kansas City, Kansas Junior College for 2 years and Kansas City Business School for 2 years. Betty worked as a Administrative Assistant for her uncle, Eugene English of the English-Franklin Funeral Home at 7th & Quindaro, Kansas City, Kansas and later as Administrative Assistant for the Lawrence A. Jones Kansas Chapel at 5th and Quindaro from which she retired in July, 2000 after approximately 35 years of service.

She was deeply devoted to her Christian faith, having been baptized in Metropolitan Baptist Temple, Kansas City, Kansas at age 9 where she attended Sunday School, Baptist Training Union and the children's choir. She later joined Metropolitan Spiritual Church where she sang in the choir and was ordained a minister and worked with the Minister's Board.

Her parents, her brothers, Charles Jr., Alvin and George Walton and her sister, Charlene Walton Sallard, preceded her in death.

Reverend Betty Ann Walton departed this life on March 24, 2005.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Belcher (Cave), of Kansas City, Missouri; one nephew, Brent Sallard; three nieces, Peggy Ann dark (Charles), Vickie Lynn Walton James (Frank) and Christie Lynette Walton; two great nephews, Donell Sallard and Jordan James and two great nieces, Camille dark and Rachel James, a special sister and friend, Lorene Marks (Gary), the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons family and many family and friends.
