Words of Reflection

She was the third of three children born to Benjamin Tindall and Birdie (Tindall) Taylor.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of the Metropolitan Spiritual church of Christ for many years. She also served faithfully at the Universal Spiritual Church of Jesus Christ and Shiloh Church of God in Christ. She loved the Lord profoundly.

She served as a Sunday School teacher and on the usher board. In 1987, she was ordained as a minister under the leadership of Dr. I. Logan Kearse through the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ Inc. This was one of the happiest days of her life.

Throughout her illness she still professed the Lord to anyone who would listen.

She received her formal education in the Kansas City public schools. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

Ms. Phillips was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Earl Pierce. They were blessed with four beautiful children, two girls and two boys, Angela, Kim, Michael and George. She later married Rev. Calvin E. Phillips. They were companions in Christ and were committed to stewardship and building God's Kingdom.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Earl Pierce and Rev. Calvin Phillips; both parents, Benjamin Tindall and Birdie(Tindall) Taylor; her brother, Benjamin Tindall Sr.and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Scott.

Alice leaves to cherish her loving memory, two. I daughters, Angela Mitchell (Michael) and Kim Nickerson (Toney); two sons, Michael Pierce and George Pierce McGaugh, all of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Veydra Brooks, Danielle and Kevin Nickerson, Whitney Taylor, Michelle and Michael Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Lamar Brooks and Breona Porter whom she loved dearly; and a host of other relatives and friends.
