Mr. James Monroe "Sunny" Martin 77, of Kansas City, Missouri, departed this life on December 27, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born September 22, 1928 in Pocahotas, TN.

The family located to Memphis, TN, where James received his early education.

He enlisted with the United States Army in 1951, serving his country in Vietnam.

In the late 70's James was united in marriage to Dorothy King, in Denver, CO. To this loving union their daughter Sachet was born.

James was employed as an Inspector with the Samsonite Luggage Co., retiring after 20 years of service. He located to Kansas City, MO, in 1989.

He united in marriage to Deloris Sanders. They accepted Christ as their savior and became members of Metropolitan Spiritual Church Of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Mary Mac West, a two years old sister Sarah and his wife Deloris Sanders.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Sachet Jernail Martin; two step - daughters, Deborah L. Lewis (Harvey) of Denver, CO and Dewanna Monroe of Kansas City and a step - son Harry Smith of Sidney, Australia; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
