Paul Mack, Jr., was born March 4,1913 was one of eight children born to the union of Paul Mack, Sr. and Courtney Shores Mack in Chatman, Kansas.

Paul moved to Kansas City while a very young man and made his home here.Several years later Paul met and married Ida Mae Crayton. The couple was blessed by receiving a baby girl, Kathleen Moss, at the age of three months. A daughter, Maida Jo, was born to this union. Maida Jo preceded her parents in death.

Paul worked as a cook at Rockhill Manor for several years before leaving to open his own business, Mack's Liquors at 2324 Vine. Time brought many changes, and Mack's Liquors moved to 27th. & Indiana. After serving the public for several years, Mrs. Mack's health made it necessary for them to close and go into semi-retirement. After her death, Paul worked at “J's”Liquors until his health forced him into full retirement.

Paul made his transitory change on Thursday, August 15,1985.

Paul was a member of the Native Sons, a business men's social club, and belonged to the Mt. Oread Lodge No. 76.

Paul's surviving family include: his daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Warren, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Mr. Tollie Mack and Mr. William Mack of the city, and Mr. Leonard Mack, Pittsburg, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie M. Dean and Mrs. Carrie M. Jamison of Chicago, lll.;two grandchildren, Tony and D. Alexis Warren; five stepbrothers, Clyde, Shedrick, Zack, Clinton and Field Ross of Pittsburg, Kansas; two stepsisters, Mrs. Cora M. Cotton and Mrs. Rosie B. Henderson; a very loyal and devoted friend for 14 years, Jewel Webster; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and many, many friends.

Paul Mack, Jr. joined the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ under the pastorate of the late Rev. L. L. Boswell. He was elected to the Trustee Board in 1953 and served well until his health no longer permitted him to serve at his post. Paul was a very humble person and accepted his spiritual commitment very seriously. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Every year the church had the pleasure of enjoying “Paul's Chili” and he enjoyed doing it, this treat will be greatly missed.

Paul was quiet, soft-spoken and very generous with giving of himself, his time and talents and possessions, whenever called upon or wherever there was a need.

Paul will be greatly missed not only by family and church, but by everyone he was in contact with. May God bless his spirit.
