Remembering the Life of
Mother Ernestine Lucas

Ernestine was born December 16, 1916 in Rowland, Oklahoma to Herman Campbell and Janie Campbell Bell. She was the only child born of this union. Later, the family moved to Kansas City where she received her education in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School System.

In 1932, she was united in marriage to Orviile E. Jackson, Sr, and they had four children. That marriage was dissolved. She later married Leon Fritz, Sr. and two children were born. That marriage was also dissolved. In 1956, she married George Lucas, who preceded her in death in 1969. No children were born to their union.

Ernestine worked at Menorah Hospital and retired after 29 years of service. She was later employed as a Senior Companion for the Seton Center.

She was a faithful and active member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ where she joined under the leadership of Bishop Taylor. She served on the Usher Board for over 50 years, the Mother Board for 2 years and was a member of Sunday School.

She was at one time a member of the order of the Eastern Star, Sheba Chapter No. 180 OES.

Her parents, husband, and several half brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sons, Oville Jackson, Jr., Leon Fritz, Eathen Fritz, all of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters, Sylilia Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri, Willa Jean Bennett of Kansas City, Kansas, Vema Estelle of Grandview, Missouri; four half sisters, 2 daughters-in-law, 3 sons-in-law; 35 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
