Obituary

Roselyn Marie Harris was born on October 3, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri at General Hospital. She and her siblings, Gwendolyn, Robert, Jolene, Gilbert, Jon and Michelle along with their mother, Ruby Lee Harris were a tight knit clan and spent many hours at the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ where they all were lifetime members.

Roselyn joined the youth choir and remained a loyal Choir member until she was too sick to participate in church services.

When she was five years old she began attending Yates Elementary School. In later years she trained at Blue Valley Industries. She enjoyed her work and her colleagues. After a bout with cancer, she was somewhat weak an enrolled in Palestine Baptist Daycare Center where she was very happy with her activities there.

When she moved to Kansas she met with Mosaic Day Care Center until she entered the Golden Living Nursing Home. She adjusted well to these new situations and was always upbeat about her health.

Roselyn was just Rose; straightforward, humorous, loving and giving.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Leia McFadden, her beloved mother, Ruby L. Harris, brothers, Gilbert and Robert Harris and her sister, Michelle D. Williams.

She leaves to cherish numerous memories: her sisters, Gwendolyn 0. Chestnut of KCKS, Jolene Harris of Topeka, KS; brother, Jon Harris (Helen) of Cheyenne, WY; nephews, Randal Chestnut, Ronald Harris; nieces, Robin Harris (Michael), Gwy'nne Harris Birzer (Michael), Sharia Gilliam, Caria Harris; great nieces, Ricquisha Campbell, Shaunte' Banks (Antoine); great-great nieces and nephews, Antoine Jr., TeShaun and Antoinette, Michael Birzer Jr., Ronald Harris Jr. and Madison and Lauren Ramsey; special friends, Rita Knott, Sharon Ramsey, Shirley Jones, Pam Ginn; beloved foster, Paul Wilson and a host of other relatives and special friends.
