On April 18, 1938, Ruby Lee Manning Harris gave birth to her second child, Robert Lester Harris, in Kansas City, Missouri. At an early age, Robert accepted Christ and attended Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, Kansas City, Missouri, under the leadership of Elder Leviticus Boswell. He loved his church and played drums for the Children's Choir and was an acolyte. Robert attended W. W. Yates Elementary School in Kansas City, Missouri and later moved to Conway, Arkansas to live with his uncle, Bruce Bynum, where he completed his education. He graduated from Pine Street High in 1956. After high school, Robert attended Arkansas A.M. & N in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 1959, Robert united in holy matrimony to Maxine Weaver. To this union one daughter, Robin Rene' Harris was born. Robert was a District Manager for IRS and retired after thirty-three years of service. Always active and on the go, Robert was a past president of the National Treasurer's Employee Union. He loved traveling to swap meets and antique car shows with his wife, Maxine. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Leia McFadden, mother. Ruby L. Harris; his loving life, Maxine, brother, Gilbert Harris and sister, Michelle D. Williams and uncle, Bruce Baynum. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories, daughter, Robin Harris (Michael), sisters, Gwendolyn Chestnut of Kansas City, Kansas, Jolene Harris of Topeka, Kansas; Roselyn Harris of Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Jon Harris (Helen) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; nephews, Randall Chestnut, Ronald Harris, Michael Wilkins, Eric Wilkins; nieces, Gwynne Harris Birzer (Michael), Sharia Harris, Caria Harris, Vonda Morgan, Kyra Harris; sister-in-law, Guyane Wilkins (David); special running buddy, Lawrence Brooks and a host of other relatives and many friends.
