OBITUARY
Olen Clay Ginn was born to Charles and Jacqueline Ginn on April 26,
1963, in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Elementary Schools at
E.C. Meservey and St. Louis Catholic School. He also attended
Bingham Junior High School, and Southeast and Southwest Senior
High Schools. Olen graduated from William A. Wirt High School in
Gary, Indiana on June 3, 1982.
Before his illness, Olen was employed as a Foreman for the Jackson County Parks and Recreation.
Olen was a former member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church under the Pastorship
of Rev. James Tindall. Olen loved to sing in the choir, known as the Metropolitan
Inspirational Choir, under the direction of Professor Michael Charles. Olen transferred
his membership in June of 1992 to the Holy Ghost New Testament Church, under the leadership
of Elder Herman Cubit. Olen loved the Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed being in the service of the Lord.
Olen lived a very happy, enjoyable life. He loved to bowl, travel, and play badminton.
During his illness, Olen remained in the very loving and devoted care of his mother, father, and family.
Olen leaves, to mourn his death, his parents, Charles and Jacqueline Ginn of the home; two brothers,
Gerald W. Robinson and Charles E. Ginn Jr. of the city; five sisters, Denise R. Frazier and Querita
Conway of the city, Diane P. Cunningham of Grandview, MO, Carla M. Ginn and Pamela J. Ginn of the
home; five nephews, four nieces, and two great-nephews, all of the city. Olen had one brother,
Jerome Washington Ginn, who preceded him in death. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles,
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a great host of special friends.
He also leaves, to mourn his death, a very dear and special friend, Bobby Gist of Kansas City,
whose care and support from the very beginning until his death will never be forgotten.
