Obituary for Ruth GardnerShe openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Prov 31:26-31

Mother Gardner or Mama Ruth as she was fondly called by everyone who met and/or knew her, was a lifetime resident of the Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri area.
She was more than a domestic worker as some called her. She was a mother, sister, counselor, advisor, grandmother, and friend to the many families she served. The list being too long to count.
She was a mother to sister and brother, Paul and Pauline. Each and every one of us knows about her love and concern for her brother and sister, Paul and Pauline. After Paul's passing she really grew unattachable to Pauline. Her entire conversation, work, etc. was Pauline. 'Tootsie” will be greatly missed by Pauline.
She was a member in good standing at the Metropolitan Spiritual Church Of Christ for over 60 years, serving as organizer of the “Circle of Love” in Natl. Congress and at the church; first president of Missionary Board, where she still served as a member and former member of the choir, and a member of the Mothers Board. She was indeed a mother and all the aforementioned attributes to each of us at Metropolitan. She was a master of culinary arts, naming a few - pineapple cheesecake, rolls, corn pudding and spiced teas, and Darders at tea times. She organized several prayer groups and worked very diligently keeping prayer vigils. Her prayer partners, Mother Scott will testify.
She will be greatly missed by many but we know her spirit will always be here for us.
