OBITUARY

Mr. Oscar Fisher was born February 6, 1926 in Hosston, Louisiana. He was the fourth child of seven children born to Lee and Mattie Fisher. He made his transitory journey on Saturday, March 17, 1990 at the Truman Medical Center.

He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was Steward's Mate, First Class SV6 USNR. He received two stars in the Asiatic Pacific. He served on the USS Missouri, and received the WWII Victory Medal. He was Honorably Discharged in St. Louis, MO and moved to Kansas City, MO in 1946.

He was united in marriage to Arlee Hampton, January 20, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. To this union three daughters were born, Shirley Jean, Sharon Marie and Sherry Lynnette.

Oscar Fisher worked at Armco Steel for 34 years, and retired at the age of 55, January 31, 1981. He was a member of Local Union #13 of the AFL-CIO.

He is survived by: his wife, Arlee Fisher of the home; three daughters, Shirley J. Gregory of Alexandria, VA, Sharon M. Fisher of Kansas City, KS and Sherry L. Gray of Kansas City, MO; three brothers, Arthur Fisher, Jena Fisher of Los Angeles, CA and John L. Fisher of Houston, TX; two sisters, Betty Jean Jones and Mattie Pearl Brown of Kansas City, MO; two nephews, Ritchie and Reggie Jones of Kansas City, MO; a niece, Rhonda Beal of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Roy L. Dunn Jr. of Alexandria, VA, Sheria L. Gray, Glenn T. Gray Jr., Shawndele L. Gray and Shawntele L. Gray of Kansas City, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.

At this time of grief and sorrow
when there are no words to find;
Close your eyes and remember
All the love they left behind
Hold on to those sweet memories
and the joy will fill your time
Because no one is really far away
if they remain in your mind.
