presence of remarkable people: people beyond words of extraordinary Beauty, Talent, Grace, Sophistication, and Inspiration. For a short time we are amazed by their Strength, their Courage, and their Light.... Sadie was one such person. Today, we celebrate her memory.
Sadie R. Carter was born on November 18th, 1923 in the state of Missouri. Both of
her parents preceded her in death by the time she was 4 years old. Sadie was
the youngest of four siblings. They were raised by their grandmother, who moved
to Kansas City, Missouri. Two sisters, one brother, and her husband, Clarence
Carter preceded Sadie in death.
Sadie was a devoted member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church for over 60 years
and held numerous positions in the church. She and Brother Carter were both
Trustees of the church. Sadie sang in the choir, was a member of the Tuesday
Night Bible Class, and she was the Church Treasurer.
Sadie visited and helped the sick and shut-in. She worked as a Lady Attendant
for the Watkins Brothers Funeral Home for several years;after 28 years of service,
she retired from Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels. Sadie was a no-nonsense,
take-charge Christian woman who loved her family and her church.
Sadie R. Carter passed away at Blue River Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri

perfect place, away from pain and tears.. .I'm far away from hunger, and hurt and want and pride. I have a place in Heaven, with my master at my side. My life on earth was very good, as earthly lives can go, but paradise is so much more than anyone can know... My heart is filled with happiness, and sweet rejoicing, too...to walk with God is perfect peace, a joy forever new.
