Clarence Carter was born to Josie and Roosevelt Carter in Curtis, Arkansas, on October 7,1916. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1983.

Mr. Carter was a member of Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ and its Trustee Board. He loved his church and will be sorely missed. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2069.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Mrs. Sadie Carter, of the home; two sons, Emanuel of Kansas City and James of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Ruth of Kansas City; four grandchildren; one son-in-law, Lawrence, of Kansas City; two daughters-in-law, Deborah, of Houston, Texas, and Ann, of Kansas City; one brother and five sisters, out of the city; two uncles and aunts, of Arkansas; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
