On Wednesday morning, November 27, 1985, Solon M. Caesar moved beyond the limits of earth and turmoil of time into the serene peace of heaven, his glorious reward of eternity.

One of God's devoted servants; Solon was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on October 31, 1898, the son of Samuel and Martha Caesar.

Mr. Caesar joined the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ in 1930 under the pastorate of Bishop William F. Taylor. He worked on the Finance Board for 5 years under Mr. I. H. Neal. Bishop Taylor then appointed Mr. Caesar to the Trustee Board in 1935, where he worked as secretary until 1953. Mr. Caesar then became church treasurer and held this job for 32 years. He has also been national chairman of the Trustees for 22 years. Mr. Caesar became overseer of the Youth Department in 1967.

He retired after 40 years of service with the Armour Packing Co.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Samuel M. Caesar of the city, and Rev. George A. Metcalfe, Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Dolores Y. Andrews, St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alma James, Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. This Christian gentleman is highly thought of by members of the church, neighbors, friends, and children.

Show me the way, not to fortune and fame,
Not how to win laurels or praise for my name,
But show Me The Way, to spread “The Great Story”
That “Thine is the Kingdom and Power and Glory”
