Major Leon Brown was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas July 6,1927.

He grew up in the Kansas City area and received his education from W.W. Yates Elemantery and Paseo High Schools.

Major was a licensed beautician and was employed at theTruman Medical Center for eleven years in the emergency room.

He was a member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ and a former Altar Boy at the church.

His survivors include, his mother, Mrs. Cordelia Sams of the home; his father, Mr. Major Brown of the city; a son and daughter-in-law, Alphonso and E. Sue Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Timothy and Heather Brown and Alphonso L. Shaw of St. Louis, Mo.; two aunts, Corrine Williams, Kansas City, Mo. and Jean Williamson, Seattle, Washington; an uncle, Jim McDade, Seattle, Washington; and friends too numerous to number.
