Tithing

1. Giving Opens the Door to Receiving
Give and it shall be given unto you good measure pressed down shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom. It is a fact that when you give, God will make somebody bless you. They don't have to know you, like you, or know you are in need; It's just a divine order from God. So whenever you give, good measure pressed down shaken together and running over is on cruise control and the blessings just begin to cruise your way. (Luke 6:38

2. God Commands It!
In Malachi 3:10, God says, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse..." The storehouse God is referring to is the place where you worship and are spiritually fed - your home church. When you give to support charities and other ministries, you are giving offerings. But remember, you can't give God an offering until after you have brought Him the whole tithe. It's only a tithe when given to the Church. Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

3. Tithing Proves God's Word is True. In Malachi 3:10, God actually challenges every believer to "put Him to the test" in their giving, and watch what He does in their lives. As you put God to the test in giving of your tithes and offerings, you will be incredibly blessed as you watch His blessings flow' toward you and overtake your life.

4. God will Rebuke the Devourer.
You have a spiritual enemy who targets you and your finances. Malachi 3:11 says: When you bring God the whole tithe and give offerings as He leads, God will rebuke (stop) the enemy from stealing from you. You need God's help if you are going to make it financially in these economically distressed times.

5. Tithing Teaches Me to Put God First.
According to Deuteronomy 14:23, the purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God first in your life. If God has your finances, He also has your heart. If you refuse to tithe, you prove that He isn't really Lord of your life.

6. Jesus Reaffirms Our Obligation to Tithe.
In Matthew 23:23, Jesus commended the Pharisees for tithing. Tithing was the only thing they were doing right.

7. Tithing is Essential to Spiritual Growth.
Jesus said in Luke 16:11, "if therefore you have not been faithful in the use of money, how can you expect want to believe the promises of God, but don't want to Him to entrust greater riches to you?" Many Christians obey His commands. In other words, to paraphrase Luke 16:11: How can you expect God to bless you, if you refuse to bring your tithes and offerings to Him?

8. Tithing Proves You Love the Lord.
In 2 Corinthians 8:8, God says that your giving tests the sincerity of your love. So, when you give God the first of your income, not the leftovers at the end of the month, you're> proving you trust Him, love Him, and you are putting Him first in your life. You see, you can say you love the Lord, but your> actions will always speak louder than your words.

9. Tithing is an Investment for Eternity.
Jesus told us in Matthew 6:20, "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven..." When you give your tithes and offerings> to the Lord's work, you are investing your money in souls for the> Kingdom. What an honor to give to God and see people's lives changed for eternity.

10. You Cannot Out Give God.
Paul tells us in Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows that he will also reap." In other words, God is watching, and whatever you give to Him, He will give back to you. You see, giving unlocks the windows of heaven on your behalf. You cannot "out give" God. The more you give to Him, the more He will give back to you in multiplied proportions.

11. Where Your Treasure is, there Will Your Heart Be Also.
I often wonder why the Bible did not say where your heart is, there will your treasure be also. I have learned over the years that sometimes those things that we sought to become wealthy in did not always pan out. Then something worked and we set our anchor and began to work what worked. Our hearts follow our treasure. Many people don't like their jobs. Because that job is providing a good income, vacations and college tuition for the kids, we put our heart into that job or that business. We do our best for it so it does its best for us. Hence, the wisdom of God, where our treasure is, there will our hearts be also - Matt. 6:21. If your treasure is with God and His word hen tithing is not an option, it's a must.

12. Without Faith it is Impossible to Please God!! (Hebrews 6:12)
Many people say they have faith but they only talk about what they believe faith can do. Faith is action. If one only talks faith they talk about what they are going to do when their ship comes in. When you do faith, you pay your whole tithe, give your> offerings and build your ship like Noah did, having faith that it's going to rain. When the rain started Noah had a ship built by faith. What are you doing to show that your faith is alive and active?

0ur city could nave a
bountiful blessing upon it, if
1 every person, every business,
every corporation paid tithes and
trusted God to bring the increase.
I know these tithing pointers, if
put into action, will change your
life, your business and bless your
financial status forever.
